Medherence

The PBS is a fantastic support system that subsidises certain medications for the Australian public. It ensures that life-saving medication can be acquired by those who need it while minimising the financial impact.

Unfortunately, the efficacy of these medications can be negatively impacted if patients miss one of their scheduled doses. In turn, this impacts the taxpayer by potentially extending the patient’s medication plan.

Researchers at Swinburne University see an opportunity to reduce these events with a platform that reminds patients to take their medication, tracks their symptoms, and links patients to nurses who monitor their progress.

Concepts

The platform required two core products, a mobile app used by patients and a web dashboard used by health practitioners. In addition to researching user personas and writing use cases, I developed flow diagrams and wireframes.

Prototype UI

Both the mobile app and web dashboard prototypes were built and functional. Users, medication and symptom surveys were all operational and linked between devices. Testing and trials are required to continue development.
